A Wakeland High School sophomore, Leela is committed to raising awareness about heart disease, the leading killer in the United States, causing over 370,000 deaths in the United States in 2024 alone. As the founder of Project Heartbeat, Leela hopes to raise over $2,500 in the following year for research. His long term goal is to become a medical doctor/scientist specializing in cardiology.
